Global Forgiveness Day: Send in your message to Oscar

‘A day to forgive and be forgiven, Forgiveness Day is a chance to set things right. Put aside old differences, move beyond grievances and hurts and start afresh. …. the Forgiveness Day on 7th July was founded by CECA (Christian Embassy of Christ’s Ambassadors).’

Dear friends,

we thought we’d celebrate the Global Forgiveness Day by posting messages to Oscar around the theme of forgiveness (obviously!)

If you would like to participate, please send your message, poem, drawing, image, thoughts or prayer to or in a message to our Facebook page by 6 July latest.

All your messages will be published on this page on July 7.

Thank you!

The Trial Resumes

Dear Oscar

Today the trial resumes and you will be on the homeward journey. We may never know just how difficult these last few weeks have been for you; to have deeply personal facets of your life, and the humanity of those you love, exposed, scrutinised and judged, no doubt be a raw and painful process for an inherently private man. However, if this challenging walk through the pages of your life has helped to portray a story that the judge can understand, and aptly illustrates the reality of your existence, a life lived in your country with your disability, and the truth behind the tragedy, it will have been worth it. And maybe, God willing, this experience will have helped to you to take one small step further to recovery, to be able to put into perspective the extraordinary tragedy that befell you, to come to terms with the terrible accident that it was, and to make you stronger and more able to move forwards to a bright and happy future. In the meantime, may the hand of our Heavenly Father be upon your shoulder, as the prayers of those who love you and believe in you are with you. God bless you always.

Heavenly Father

Let us never forget that unlike those of the world, You are not fickle or superficial. You are Almighty, steadfast and immovable, an ever present refuge for the oppressed in times of trouble. Lord, as our dear Oscar faces the rigours of the courtroom once again, put Your hand upon him, let him feel Your presence and give him the strength and courage he needs to face the days ahead. Father, we pray that You will also be with his family and friends, that they too will feel Your courage and Your peace in their hearts, and be strong and unafraid.

Psalm 9.

Unconditional Love and Acceptance

Unconditional Love and
    Perfect Acceptance
    Nothing to Prove.

From psalm 139

O Lord, you have examined Oscar’s heart
  and know everything about him.
2 You know when he sits down or stands up.
You know his thoughts even when he is far away.
3 You see him when he travels
and when he rests at home.
  You know everything Oscar does.
4 You know what he is going to say
even before he says it, Lord.
5 You go before him and follow him.
You place your hand of blessing on his head.

13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of Oscar’s form
and knit him together in his mother’s womb.
14 Thank you for making him so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvellous—he knows it well.
15 You watched him as he was being formed in utter seclusion,
as he was woven together in the dark of the womb.
16 You saw him before he was born.

Search him, O God, and know Oscar’s heart,
test him and know his anxious thoughts.
Point out anything in him that offends you,
and lead him along the path of everlasting life.

Unconditional Love and
      Perfect Acceptance
       mean Oscar has
      Nothing to Prove.

Once again

Dearest Oscar

Once again it is back to court, having to be a part of a media circus, don’t pay attention to the negative people out there, take strength from those who support and care for you, knowing that you are loved by so many people.
We will be praying for The Lord to keep you strong, and safe in His loving arms. Keep your head held high and take care of yourself, you have an awesome family to lean on. We will stand by you forever, and keep you and your family in our prayers.

Love and hugs a plenty to you and your wonderful family.

Love Jean and Trish
