Watchword

Sunday, 8 October

Now rid yourselves of all these things: anger, rage, malice, slander, and obscene language from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, for you have stripped off the old self with its evil practices and have put on the new spiritual self who is being continually renewed in true knowledge in the image of Him who created the new self.

– Colossians 3:8-9

Not By Might

Dear Oscar,

Night and day, people somewhere in the world are thinking of you, caring about you, praying for you – I hope you and your lovely family know that.

A few nights ago, I just couldn’t get to sleep and you were so much in my mind and prayers (I’ve had more than a few nights like this!). Zechariah clearly came to mind so I read through the book and there I found some verses which greatly comforted me regarding you and your situation, among them verses about:

a mountain becoming level ground; truth, justice, mercy and compassion; prisoners, hope and restoration; sparkling like jewels in a crown; passing through the sea of trouble.

The Lord is with you, Osci.

Lots of love,

Prayer For Oscar At The Western Wall

Dear Oscar

It is said that prayer notes are placed in the Western Wall because the Divine Presence has never moved from the Wall, “and that all prayers ascend to Heaven through the Temple Mount, which the Western Wall abuts.”

Last week I stood there at the Wall in Jerusalem, a note with your name on in my hand. I leaned against that wall, where praying women were crying out to God. It was as if the cries of despair and sorrow of thousands of years were echoing from these walls. It touched something deep inside of me. I then cried too. For your sorrow and grief, for the unfairness of it all, for the unfathomable hatred of the human race against each other.

I then placed the note with your name in a crack in that wall. Oscar, many tears are shed at that wall, and tears and prayers for you are captured at that Wall too, from which I know it ascends to heaven

Oscar, know that God keep track of our sorrows, and and that no tear pass him unnoticed, for the Word says:

“You keep track of all my sorrows
You have collected all my tears in your bottle.
You have recorded each one in your book. – Ps 56: 8

Your name is now written into that wall, and into His book!

Always thinking of you and praying for you

Much love
Marinda

Shine A Light

Dear Oscar

I visited some ancient and historical churches recently and was able to light candles and pray for you in them. I felt somehow closer to you as I looked at your candle flames shining and asked the Lord to watch over you. I also asked for you to stay safe and keep positive.

With love

The Lord Loves You

Hi Oscar,

I haven’t commented for a long time.I have been in South Africa actually. Thst means I had thought about you, knowing that you are both near and far as you are unavailable. I know you miss being free to go about.Time is going ,you may not feel it but it is moving. I pray for a miracle in somebody’s mind which will come out and talk about parole. But the Lord loves you Oscar and He is going to work for you. I wish that you can be able to get our messages of love and support.
